SCHOLARSHIP FAQ

Your Guide to Applying for Scholarships with FCS Successfully!

1. Who should apply?
Anyone and everyone who is seeking financial aid or a scholarship award. This includes faculty members seeking additional scholarship funds and those in full-time ministry.

2. Who is eligible?

  • Financial need based on FACTS recommendation
    • Note: Families with a combined income of over $200,000 with 2 or less dependents are considered ineligible.
  • Students that are re-enrolled or have been accepted to FCS for upcoming school year.
  • Students whose current transcript reflects academic excellence
  • Those in full-time ministry that can provide employment contract or letter from leadership affirming employment within a ministry.
  • Faculty seeking additional Scholarship funds.

3. Are scholarships taxable?
Generally, scholarships used for tuition, fees, and required books are not taxable but we recommend that you consult with a tax advisor to be certain.

4. How do I apply?
Complete the scholarship application form available on the school’s website at www.franklinclassical.com. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully and submit all REQUIRED documents before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

5. When are the deadlines to apply for Scholarships?

  • Early Scholarship Decisions
    • Application opens November 15th
    • Submission Deadline – December 31st
    • Awards announced February 1st.
  • Final Scholarship Decisions
    • Applications submitted after January 15th
    • Submission Deadline – March 30th
    • Awards announced February 28th and April 15th.

6. How will I be notified?
All applicants will receive notification of financial aid award or ineligibility via email.

7. How much aid can I expect to receive?
Generally, scholarships do not exceed 40% of the student’s base tuition (for LD/UD students elective classes will not be considered in scholarship awards.)

8. I received financial aid in the past, am I guaranteed to be awarded?
No. Families are asked to reapply every year. Aid will be based on each year’s application. If qualifications for aid are not met, aid will not be awarded.

9. Our tax returns will not reflect our current financial situation?
Families are encouraged to use the “Additional Information” portion of the application for extreme financial situations. The review team will take into consideration many factors when determining award amounts.

10. What documents are needed?

  • Completed financial aid application located in FACTS
  • Official transcripts (new students – from previous school)
  • Letters of recommendation (new students)
  • Personal statement (part of application)
  • Past 2 year’s tax returns. For 2026-2027 school year, you will be asked to upload your 2023 and 2024 tax returns.
  • Provide additional information that would support the request for financial aid/Scholarship funds.
